Nellie is home!

Tonight Nellie came to our farm. It was a rainy evening, but that did not dampen our enthusiasm. She was living as an only horse with an older couple who didn't really know what they were doing with a miniature horse, and she needed friends. We rescued her even though she is not registered. Her hooves are in desperate need of some attention so we will be getting a ferrier here soon. She hasn't been fed correctly and her diet will need to be worked on. She is very sweet and I think things will work out just fine. We are keeping her separated in an area that she will be able to interact with our other horses until she and they get used to each other. Should be about a week or so. We are doing this because she has never been around other horses since she has been weened and moved to her former owners home. We have a bit of work ahead of us, but this little girl needed us and I think she will be a great addition to our farm.
